Hey Arlin,
Through running a social anxiety support group in the UK I get see the extent of how much people’s work is affected by social anxiety. About half the people I see are unemployed because of their social anxiety and do not have the confidence to go through the process of applying for jobs or be in them. It is not uncommon for people to end up in jobs that they do not necessarily find too inspiring, but that feel safe and comfortable. Also, as you indicate in your poll, unfortunately people do turn down promotions because promotions often involve managing people.
Thanks for your blog.
Regards,
Nick
