Be sure to limit alcohol consumption. Although it can be tempting to use alcohol as a social lubricant, the danger of alcoholism is too great for those who suffer with social anxiety.
If you do drink, keep it to a minimum and be sure to eat to offset the effects of the alcohol. If eating in front of others is an anxiety trigger for you, be sure to eat something before going to the party in case it is too difficult to do so once you get there.
