Definition:

A diagnosis of social anxiety disorder (SAD) without the designation "generalized" is commonly referred to as "specific" SAD. In contrast with generalized SAD, the symptoms of people with specific SAD are only triggered by one or a few social or performance situations. The most common specific fear is of public speaking.
