Definition:

Zoloft (sertraline hydrochloride) is a medication used in treating depression, anxiety, and other mental health disorders. A selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI), Zoloft slows reabsorption of the chemical serotonin in the brain. Manufactured by Pfizer, Zoloft is the only SSRI approved for long-term treatment of social anxiety disorder (SAD).
