Definition:

Kava kava is a natural herbal supplement that has been shown to offer some relief for anxiety sufferers. After an FDA advisory was released in 2002 regarding the potential for liver damage while taking kava kava, many countries issued bans on the sale of kava-containing products. People with liver disease, liver problems, or those taking medications affecting the liver should not use kava kava. Nor should you mix alcohol with kava kava.

In general, those who take kava kava should be aware of the signs and symtpoms of liver damage such as jaundice and brown urine, and visit a medical professional if these symptoms develop.
