Definition:

BuSpar (buspirone hydrochloride) is a medication used in the treatment of anxiety disorders and short-term anxiety.

Manufactured by Bristol-Myers Squibb, BuSpar has not been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of social anxiety disorder (SAD). However, the effectiveness of BuSpar for treating generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) has been established.
