Definition:

Oxytocin is a natural hormone that has traditionally been associated with reproduction, as it facilitates lovemaking, labor, breastfeeding and mother-infant bonding. The role of oxytocin in social behavior has also been examined, and there is evidence that oxytocin (administered through a nasal spray) may aid in the treatment of autism and social anxiety disorder (SAD).
